Have ample water available in your cooking area; buckets, fire extinguishers, hose, etc. (A three gallon garden sprayer makes a great fire extinguisher)
Have other fire fighting gear available; shovels, racks, burlap sacks in a bucket of water, etc.
Call 9-1-1 immediately to report a fire out of control. If calling from a cell phone, be prepared to give your location. (Not all counties have location technology)
