How to start a new chapter
GUIDELINES FOR STARTING NEW CHAPTERS
IN THE LONE STAR DUTCH OVEN SOCIETY
- Interest is generated in Dutch oven cooking in an area.
- LSDOS member (dues paid for current year) assumes responsibility of Interim Chapter Advisor.
- Interim Chapter Advisor informs President Rodney Duderstadt, Newsletter Editor Yvonne Newton, Trustee Greg Petrey, and Webmaster Greg Petrey of initial organizational meetings.
- If possible, a mentor will be assigned.
- Three (3) LSDOS Dutch oven gatherings (DOGs) must be held. A write-up of each DOG should be sent to the President Rodney Duderstadt, Newsletter Editor Yvonne Newton, and Webmaster Greg Petrey for publication.
- A Chapter Advisor is elected.
- The name for the new chapter is chosen.
- President advises Webmaster so that www.lsdos.com can be updated.
- President ensures that the Board of Directors is informed and the LSDOS brochure is updated.
- After the third DOG, the President will determine whether the proposed chapter is functioning under the by-laws.
- President will authorize Trustee to forward start-up funds to the Chapter Advisor.
- President sends official WELCOME letter and LSDOS Banner to the Chapter Advisor. He/she advises Chapter Advisor that he/she is now a member of the Board of Directors. He/she informs him/her that as Chapter Advisor he/she is responsible for maintaining current and accurate information pertaining to their chapter on www.lsdos.com by providing information to the Webmaster (Greg Petrey).
- President ensures that the Board of Directors is informed and the LSDOS brochure is updated.
